“Yad Kard” means that the seeker should continually engage in the remembrance of Allah as instructed by their perfect guide (Sheikh), whether it be silent (Qalbi), aloud (Jahri), or through negation and affirmation. They should not be lazy or negligent in this practice and should continuously remember Allah with love and devotion until they achieve the presence of Allah Almighty.
Translation: Keep remembering, keep remembering until your soul has life. The purification of the heart is only obtained through the remembrance of Allah.
The verse “And remember Allah much that you may be successful” explicitly states that success and victory depend on the remembrance of Allah.
Hazrat Shah Naqshband (may Allah sanctify his secret) says, “The purpose of remembrance is to keep the heart always present with the Truth (Allah) in a state of love and reverence because remembrance is the elimination of heedlessness.”
Hazrat Khwaja Ala’uddin Attar (may Allah have mercy on him) says,
Translation: O young one, if you are aware of Allah’s justice, then you should remember Him at all times.
