Knowledge Is the Name of Struggle

Knowledge Is the Name of Struggle
نَحْمَدُهُ وَنُصَلِّي عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِ الْكَرِيمِ

Knowledge lies between two forms of struggle (mujāhadah). The first is the effort made in seeking knowledge before one acquires it. The second is the struggle encountered when applying that knowledge after it has been attained.

Therefore, just as your blessed gathering includes the study of books on Tasawwuf (spirituality), in the same way, there should also be lessons from books of Fiqh (jurisprudence). Fiqh books are widely available in the Persian language—for example, Majmu‘a Khan, ‘Umdat al-Islam, and Kanz in Persian.

In fact, if books on Tasawwuf are not mentioned, there is no great harm, because they pertain to personal states (ahwāl) and not verbal expressions. But if books of Fiqh are not studied or mentioned, there is a real risk of loss.

What more need be said? “A little speech points to much meaning.”
As the poet says:

اندکے پیش تو گفتم غمِ دل ترسیدم کہ
دل آزردہ شوی ورنہ سخن بسیار است

Translation:
I have expressed only a little of my heart’s sorrow before you, fearing that your heart may be pained — otherwise, there is much more to say.

May Allah Almighty grant both us and you the ability to perfectly follow His Beloved Prophet ﷺ. Āmīn.
