Congregational Prayer
In the name of: Shaykh Nizam Thanisri (may Allah have mercy on him)
نَحْمَدُهُ وَنُصَلِّي عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِ الْكَرِيمِ
We praise Him and send salutations upon His Noble Messenger.
It is narrated that one day, the Commander of the Faithful, Hazrat Umar al-Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him), offered the Fajr (dawn) prayer in congregation. After completing the prayer, he looked toward the congregation and noticed that one of his companions was absent.
He inquired from those present, “Is so-and-so not here?”
They replied, “He remains awake for most of the night; perhaps he has fallen asleep at this time.”
Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
“Had he slept through the entire night but performed the Fajr prayer in congregation, that would have been better.”
