“Yaddasht” refers to the state of continuous remembrance where, after persistent effort in maintaining vigilance, the seeker’s heart naturally turns towards the unparalleled and incomparable Being of Allah Almighty. This state is reflective of the verse, “And He is with you wherever you are.” This state of constant remembrance, “Yaddasht,” is achieved when the seeker’s heart becomes so absorbed in the remembrance of Allah that it becomes immune to distractions that scatter and disperse thoughts.
